Based in Brittany, France, the subsidiary company of the Winfarm group specialized in the development and contract manufacturing of nutritional and environmental products for livestock professionals has invested 6 million euros to build a new automated facility dedicated to the manufacturing and packing of solid products.
With this investment, Alphatech increases its industrial plant in Plaintel by 50%, bringing it to 6 000 m². This extension includes an additional storage area as well as a complete and automated mixing and packaging process. This unit will make it possible to develop powder and micro-granulated products with an automated process to control all operations during manufacturing: dosing and mixing of raw materials, inclusion of liquid cores in dry formulas, packaging, and palletizing. The production capacity will thus be increased up to 20 000 metric tons per year. According to Yann Renouvel, Director of Alphatech, “the investment has been designed to optimize production operations and storage, while preserving the well-being of employees in terms of safety and ergonomics”.
Strengthening of the “Environment” division
The new facilities will initially be dedicated to the manufacture of environmental products for farm animals. This area includes products such as litter conditioners, liquefiers for manure or composting products. An expertise that, supported by its galenic development laboratory, allows Alphatech to position itself as a major player in this market. “Thanks to this investment, we will benefit from more flexibility in terms of product design and manufacturing, and we will thus increase our positions in this market by offering tailor-made and innovative formulations to our customers, in France and abroad” says Sylvain Lagadou, Sales Director.
Conquering new markets
For Yann Renouvel, “this investment, which doubles our capacity to produce solid products, will also allow us to target new markets in line with our strategic vision.” Its ability to ensure solid mixtures of all types makes it possible to imagine the production of products for soil and plants. This will be a significant strategic extension of the company’s market scope, which until now focused exclusively on the performance and welfare of farm animals. “This is a subject on which we have been reflecting for a long time and which makes sense today in the strategic vision of Alphatech and the Winfarm group, as the link between the soil and its structure, the nutrition and health of plants and those of animals are intimately linked,” says Yann Renouvel.
